Power System Upgrades

I thought people might want to see the details of a photo I took one Sunday a couple of years back. It is of a crew upgrading the electrical system in the community that I live in. From what I can work out, significant planning went into this work. It involved not only replacing power poles, but upgrading the wiring, and other associated works.

There are several causes for this type of work. One is that infrastructure needs to be replaced when it gets old. Another is that it needs to be upgraded thanks to increased loads. This increased loads is the important consideration. In this community, more houses are being built, often with some larger blocks being turned into units. There is also a general increase in electricity consumption. All these factors together mean that a lot of works like those shown in the photo are needed.

These cost a lot of money, which we all ultimately pay for in our electricity bills.

At Redshift Wireless, we are working to reduce energy consumption so that this type of upgrade will not be needed as often
